The legacy of late BEATLES legend JOHN LENNON is set to live on for decades to come - three time capsules containing his music will be buried to mark what would have been his 70th birthday.

Three capsules will be filled with Lennon's music from the post-Beatles era and stored at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio during a ceremony on 9 October (10).

Devotees have been given until 15 September (10) to send in birthday wishes, music and artwork for inclusion in the capsules, which will be reopened in 30 years' time on the centenary of the icon's birth.

And the project has been given the seal of approval from Lennon's widow Yoko Ono, who is "delighted" to support the idea.

Lennon was shot dead outside his New York apartment in December 1980.

Gallagher nervous about Beatles movie

Liam Gallagher is terrified about his upcoming Beatles movie, insisting the project is more intimidating than creating his first album since leaving Oasis. Skip related content

The rocker, who walked away from Oasis last year, is working on a film adaptation of Richard DiLello's book, The Longest Cocktail Party - about the last days of the Fab Four at their Apple Corps record label.

Gallagher is currently juggling his fashion line, Pretty Green, as well as the debut record of his new band, Beady Eye, but he admits he's most "worried" about taking on a movie producer role - because he wants the picture to be completely accurate.

He tells Sky News, "I'm more worried about getting that book right than getting this (fashion range) right, and my record right. I'm not going to be in the film or making the film, you know I'm going to be popping in from round the corner.

"I'm more worried about getting that right because it's (based on) other people's lives."
