Beatles A member of a Beatles tribute band was arrested by San Diego police after performing during a morning TV news show.

Authorities said they had been looking for Theodore Felicetti, who plays Paul McCartney in the band, for more than a year. He was wanted on a failure to appear warrant related to a drunk driving case, San Diego police Cpl. Scott Merritt told Fox 5 San Diego.

Merritt said officers recently looked at the band's Facebook page and noticed an upcoming appearance on Fox 5 Morning News, complete with the time and location (Fox 5 is owned by Tribune, which also owns the Los Angeles Times).

Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood learned the guitar listening to his band's sixties rivals The Beatles. Skip related content

Wood, who joined the Stones in 1976, admits he picked up tips tuning into a live jam radio session the Beatles recorded in the 1960s, when he was just starting out with his first band The Birds.

The rocker reveals, "They had their own radio show. They were like a bunch of kids let loose in the studio, shouting and hollering.

"I used to tune in every week and kop (steal) some riffs off them.

"When I was in my first band, we used to get inspired listening to their madness and the live tracks they would play."

Faux Beatles member arrested

SAN DIEGO - It's going to be a hard day's night in jail for a Beatles impersonator after police arrested him on an old warrant outside an appearance on a San Diego morning news show.

Carlsbad police Lt. Marc Reno says Theodore "Ted" Felicetti was arrested Friday on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a drunken driving charge in December, 2008. Felicetti plays Paul McCartney in the Beatles tribute band "Help!".

Investigators received tips that Felicetti played in the band, then learned on the group's Facebook page that they would be appearing on the morning news show, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

Station's news director Rich Goldner says two officers let Felicetti finish the performance of "I Am the Walrus," then arrested him outside the studio.

Felicetti is being held on $130,000 bail.

Come together! New show units the Beatles and burlesque

Posted: 23 Apr 2010 02:15 PM PDT

Fans of the Beatles and burlesque — this is your ticket to ride.

Inspired by David Bowie glam rock tributes, a new show in Williamsburg is all about the Fab Four — and the teasing performance art known as burlesque.

The two, according to the show's creator, Calamity Chang, are a natural fit.

"The Beatles were transgressors in a time of political unrest much like now," said Chang, aka "Yoko Chang," who hosts the monthly show at Public Assembly, next up on May 10. "Through burlesque, which is a transgressive art form in itself, it seemed like the perfect event that can reach more than just an insular community."

John, Paul, Ringo and George are channeled by the tribute band Ticket to Ride, who back up the performers as they strip and sing along to songs pulled from the Beatles' extensive canon, such as the raunchy "Why Don't We Do It In The Road?"

A natural fit, indeed.

Beatles Burlesque at Public Assembly [70 N. Sixth St. between Wythe and Kent avenues in Williamsburg, (718) 384-4586], May 10 at 9 pm. Tickets $10. For info, visit www.beatlesburlesque.com.
