| Beatles Revolver Artist The Focus of Inside The Music Premiere Posted: 15 Jul 2010 05:45 AM PDT | Beatles Revolver Artist The Focus of Inside The Music Premiere. From the creative genius who designed the album cover of The Beatles' "Revolver," to the Colombian music festival where Latin America's best known performers congregate, to the invention of the instrument that changed the look, sound and volume of music forever, INSIDE THE MUSIC has something that everyone can listen to. The featured INSIDE THE MUSIC premiere, ALL YOU NEED IS KLAUS, premiering August 22 at 8pm ET/PT, is a journey into the incredible life of Klaus Voormann. Respected as one of the finest bass guitarists of all time, Voormann is best known for his association with the most popular and most influential band in rock 'n roll history, The Beatles. ALL YOU NEED IS KLAUS also features Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Carly Simon, and Randy Newman, Joe Walsh and Simon are also interviewed in the film with Simon recounting Voormann's influence on her biggest hit, "You're So Vain." In 1960, Klaus Voormann met The Beatles, who at the time were completely unknown, in Hamburg, Germany, where he was an art student. Three years later, when Klaus moved to London and lived with George Harrison and Ringo Starr in their apartment, The Beatles had already become the embodiment of a new youth culture. In 1965, Voormann, who was working as a graphic designer at the time, was asked by John Lennon to create the album cover for their latest album. The highly influential piece of cover art for "Revolver," earned Klaus a Grammy Award. That same year, he became the bassist for the Manfred Mann Band and, in 1969 for John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band. Klaus Voormann was on the frontlines of the pop era's meteoric rise and played on all the Beatles' solo albums. | Beatles tribute band to perform at Sunrise Theatre on Sunday Posted: 14 Jul 2010 08:47 AM PDT Photo provided From left: Ron McNeil is John Lennon, Rolo Sandoval is Ringo Starr, Ardy Sarraf is Paul McCartney and Gavin Pring is George Harrison. "The Fab Four: The Ultimate Beatles Tribute" will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Sunrise Theatre. What: "The Fab Four: The Ultimate Beatles Tribute" When: 7 p.m. Sunday Where: Sunrise Theatre, 117 S. Second St., Fort Pierce Tickets: $35-$55 Contact: (772) 461-4775 Online: www.sunrisetheatre.org FORT PIERCE — Being a Beatles fan from a young age, California-based Ron McNeil long wondered how he could get a job being a Beatle. Then his father took him to Broadway to see a show called "Beatlemania," and he realized he could be the next best thing — a Beatles clone in a tribute band. McNeil put together "The Fab Four: The Ultimate Beatles Tribute," which has been on tour for the past 13 years, and comes to the Sunrise Theatre on Sunday. "I guess I can be a Beatle. The tribute business is a whole industry," McNeil said. McNeil plays John Lennon in the show, although growing up he was more of a Paul McCartney fan. "But when Lennon passed away, it really hit me hard," McNeil said. "I started listening to his stuff a little bit more and realized that I had a pretty good imitation of John Lennon. And I look more of the part." His role in the group was cemented when he met Ardy Sarraf during an amateur talent contest at a Beatles convention. "Boy, his mouth opened and I could not believe it. The hair on the back of my neck stood straight up, and I have a lot of hair on the back of my neck," McNeil said. "He sounds exactly like Paul McCartney." McNeil is proud that "The Fab Four" has the musicianship and the vocal sound of The Beatles, as well as looking like them. Adding to the difficulty is the visual impersonation. "They all have to look right together," McNeil said. The group members have been cast to play The Beatles in a movie remake of "Yellow Submarine," directed by Robert Zemeckis ("The Polar Express"), scheduled for release in 2012. "Now that this 3-D, motion-capture technology is available, he is able to digitally re-create the Beatles," McNeil said. "The Fab Four" follows the Beatles from their American debut to their final album together, "Let It Be," complete with an Ed Sullivan look-alike. Nothing in the show is prerecorded. "It's a great show, a show for the whole family," McNeil said. "Where else can people 8 to 80 enjoy a show together?"
