PULP FICTION PRODUCERS PLAN GHOULISH BEATLES MOVIE

Posted: 13 May 2010 03:33 AM PDT

The BEATLES are to be portrayed as the undead in a quirky new movie.

The producers behind Pulp Fiction have bought the film rights to Alan Goldsher's graphic novel Paul Is Undead: The British Zombie Invasion and now plan to turn it into an oddball new movie.

In Goldsher's tale, a zombie John Lennon murders the other three Beatles, who return as members of the undead and prey on Fab Four fans.

Producer Stacey Sher tells Spinner.com, "I am a huge Beatles fan like the rest of the world and Alan's mash-up, which really showcases his love of music history and his appreciation of the zombie world, is a fun, funny read."

RARE BEATLES AUDIO SET FOR AUCTION

Posted: 13 May 2010 03:41 AM PDT

A tape recording from a press conference given by the BEATLES in 1966 is set to make thousands of dollars at auction this summer (10).

The audio includes John Lennon being grilled by journalists over his controversial comment in which he claimed the band was "more popular than Jesus".

The 14-minute reel, recorded during a press event in Toronto, Canada, lay undiscovered in a drawer for more than 40 years and will now go on sale at auction house Bonhams and Butterfields in Los Angeles on 13 June (10).

The tape is expected to sell for between USD 20,000 to USD 25,000 (GBP 13,333 to GBP 16,667).

Other items to featured in the auction include a rare watercolour from the animated 1940 Walt Disney film Pinocchio, and one of Michael Jackson's white rhinestone gloves.

LIAM GALLAGHER: 'BEATLES FILM WILL BE FULL OF HUMOUR AND AFFECTION'

Posted: 13 May 2010 12:17 AM PDT

LIAM GALLAGHER has confirmed he's planning to turn RICHARD DILELLO's book about the last days of the BEATLES into a new movie.

Recent reports suggested the Oasis frontman would announce the project, based on DiLello's The Longest Cocktail Party, at the Cannes Film Festival in France later this week (ends14May10) - but it seems he isn't waiting.

A statement reads, "This will be a film with humour and affection providing an insider's look at what is meant to be a young man caught up in the wild swirl of the music business, celebrities and the tail end of the swinging Sixties' in London."

DiLello witnessed the demise of the Beatles as an employee at Apple Corps.

Gallagher, a huge fan of the book, is expected to produce the film.
