The Heritage Planetarium's Laser Beatles shows were a major success, and officials are scrambling to organize more shows before the semester's end.

Planetarium workers presented 21 shows in February, said Director Tom Webber. Officials announced 10 public shows and actually hosted 16 shows on the same nights, he said.

Nearly 1,200 people attended the shows, Webber said. The Heritage Planetarium averaged 57 people per show, which was close to its 67-person capacity, he said.

Officials have just announced six additional Laser Beatles events, which will be at 6:30 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. April 9-10.

Laser Beatles covers 15 songs from 11 Beatles albums that were produced over a six-year period.

Recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Terry Sylvester will headline this year's Abbey Road on the River, a Beatles-inspired festival that is returning to Louisville, KY, for its sixth year. Sylvester, who joined The Hollies in 1968 when Graham Nash left, will be joined by more than 75 bands performing on eight stages, according to a press release.

This year's Abbey Road on the River, set for Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-31) at the Belvedere Park and Galt House Hotel, will expand to include a show in Washington, DC, over Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 2-6). The DC Fest will be held at the Gaylord National Resort, located near the new National Harbor community, according to the release.
